Creating The Right Fit with Amy Allen

Amy Allen is an equestrian, mother, business owner, and much more.

We recently had a chance to speak with Amy about her experiences  working and owning her own business in the equine industry while raising her daughter. Amy, the owner of Ara Stables, LLC, brings extensive experience in:

  • Horse training
  • Lessons
  • Equine massage therapy

As an Ohio University Equestrian Team alumni, professional rider, and lifelong love for horses, Amy’s diverse background provides ample opportunities for riders and their horses to excel.

Fly Bye! Plus fly spray for horses with sensitive skin

"I love using Fly Bye! Plus because it doesn't have any harsh chemicals in it, and it's natural. Plus, for my really sensitive horse, it's a fly spray that I trust and that has allowed me to not use a fly sheet on my mare anymore." - Amy

Finding harmony between work, family, and personal passions can be challenging, especially in the equestrian industry. Amy has not only managed to strike this balance but has also integrated her love for horses into her family life, specifically with her daughter.

When we spoke with Amy, she emphasized how crucial it was for her to define her ideal work-life balance. This clarity became her guiding principle in seeking the right professional opportunities. By setting this benchmark, Amy ensured that her career choices would allow her to pursue her passion for horses while maintaining quality time with her daughter.

Amy’s journey is rooted in her extensive experience in the equine industry. Over the years, she has identified and honed the specific areas of work that align with her expertise and passions. This strategic approach has enabled her to carve out a unique niche where she can share her love for education and horses.

Amy exemplifies how intentional career choices and a clear vision of work-life balance can lead to a fulfilling and integrated professional and personal life. Her suggestion for aspiring business owners :

“Don’t make it more complicated than it needs to be. Dive in and try what you’re passionate about, and don’t be afraid to ask for help!”

Following your passion and being open to change were key factors noted in our conversation.

Currently, Amy provides services for riders and their horses in Northeastern Ohio.
